Hidesada Toriyama Takes Charge as Fusion's COO

Fusion Communications Corporation has announced that Hidesada Toriyama officially assumed the post of Chief Operation Officer, COO, on June 26. Toriyama was unofficially given the title at a June 11 meeting of the Board of Directors after a system for appointing operating officers was introduced.

Toriyama will join forces with Tadahisa Sumida, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Masatoshi Fujita, Board of Directors member and Chief Financial Officer, to oversee Fusion's business operations.

Toriyama joined Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) Corporation in 1963 and has devoted his career to the telecommunications industry. His appointment as COO was made with the aim of strengthening Fusion's business base. Upon taking over these posts, he formally resigned as a full-time auditor for NTT Communications.

Since inaugurating services in 2001, Fusion has enjoyed the patronage of a large number of customers. The company is confident that the appointment of Toriyama, with his expertise in telecommunications, will enable Fusion to create an even wider lineup of attractive services.
