CRC and Fusion Form Alliance to Build Corporate IP Phone Systems for Across-the-board Reductions in Phone Costs

Fusion Communications Corporation and CRC Solutions Corporation have formed an alliance to provide the C-NET21 corporate communications service, which will be named C-NET21 IP Phone System Construction Service and will become available on April 1, 2003.

CRC is a solutions partner in the previously announced Fusion Service Partner Alliance, providing solutions for the construction and integration of corporate IP phone systems.

The service is being offered to customers who are looking to switch to an IP phone system while utilizing their existing assets in PBX or business phone systems. This will keep initial outlay to a minimum and reduce monthly call charges. The industry-leading service employs the expertise and experience in network configuration that CRC has built up over many years in the construction of IP phone systems best suited to the existing environment of each customer.

The main features of the C-NET21 IP Phone System Construction Service are as follows.
1. Enables the switch to an IP phone system while utilizing existing assets

CRC will handle all of the PBX and VolP gateway connections, internal wiring, SIPserver setup, and connection to the FUSION IP-Phone system using a company's existing PBX or business phone system. The resulting IP phone system will reduce outside call costs.

A service to connect the user's existing IP phone system (H.323 protocol, e.g.) via a gateway to FUSION IP-Phone is also provided.

2. Line extension IP phone system reduces call charges

Using SIP servers located at the CRC Internet data center, a line extension phone system is easy to set up. Example: (main phone number) - (extension number)

This system permits internal calls between all extensions in the system, thereby reducing phone charges.

3. FUSION IP-Phone reduces call charges to outside numbers; dedicated "050" IP phone numbers are assigned

The connection to FUSION IP-Phone and the assignment of "050" IP phone numbers makes it possible to both initiate and receive calls at the same number.
(Note: Calls will be receivable from ordinary phones starting this summer.)

All calls between subscribers of FUSION IP-Phone are free.

Calls to ordinary fixed-line phones that are not subscribed to FUSION IP-Phone cost a low flat rate of 8 yen for 3 minutes anywhere in Japan.

CRC plans to expand the functionality of the C-NET21 IP Phone System Construction Service to reach more corporate users, and estimates that in the first year the service will be provided to 100 firms. Beyond this service, CRC aims to provide corporate services utilizing broadband networks and Internet data centers, creating a new infrastructure that will help the customer and society as a whole.
