Fusion Communications Corporation has formed an alliance with Iwatsu Electric Co., Ltd. as IP subscriber
telephone service device partners. The FUSION IP-Phone-compatible BR-1000v wireless broadband router
goes on sale August 1.
The Fusion Service Partner Alliance is a policy that Fusion has adopted to expand the IP telephone market
based on an "open ISP" and "open vendor" approach. Iwatsu Electric developed the BR-1000v as a low-cost,
high-quality wireless broadband router for business customers to expand corporate IP telephone services
under Fusion's "open vendor" concept.
The BR-1000v has a VoIP function built in that is compatible with FUSION IP-Phone; it also offers wireless
LAN, standard LAN (with 4-port switching hub), and printer server capabilities. The router uses SIP,
the latest standard in IP telephony. Iwatsu Electric incorporates its original DSP technology developed
over many years, as well as an echo canceller and other technologies to ensure high-quality voice transmissions.
Also, business phones made by Iwatsu Electric (TELEMORE, TELEMORE-Light, Pinodshe, and ActetoII) can
be turned into IP telephones simply by connecting them to the router.
In the future, Iwatsu Electric plans to make its equipment compatible with other IP telephone services
in addition to FUSION IP-Phone.
Through their alliance, both Iwatsu Electric and Fusion hope to expand FUSION IP-Phone service for corporate
use.
