Fusion Commences "Mobile Collect" Service
A New Service to Streamline Corporate Mobile Phone Costs
Fusion Communications Corporation will begin offering its new Mobile Collect service through its wholly
owned subsidiary Fusion Network Services Corporation, using the caller ID function* of its FUSION Free
Voice toll-free service, starting November 1.
Mobile Collect is a third-party billing service that allows the enterprise to pick up the telecommunications
tab even for business calls made from individually owned mobile phones.
At present, several different methods are used to enable a company to pay the
costs for mobile phones used by salespeople and other employees. These include: lending mobile phones
to employees that are registered in the name of the company; calculating the charges for business calls
made on mobile phones privately owned by employees; and paying a fixed monthly stipend to employees
who may need to make business calls. All of these methods, however, present drawbacks to both the company
and the employee in terms of cost burden and cost management.
After introducing Mobile Collect, business calls are made by adding a special
access number to the telephone number being dialed, and all of the telecommunications charges are billed
to the company. This allows a company to reduce the basic charges for mobile phones lent to employees
that are registered in the name of the company, or eliminate complicated calculation procedures needed
to accept the charges for business calls made from mobile phones privately owned by employees.
Mobile Collect is a groundbreaking new service that resolves existing issues with regard to the business
use of mobile phones, and enables significant cost reductions in corporate mobile phone use.
* Caller ID requires that the caller's mobile phone number be pre-registered,
and only allows toll-free calls to be made from registered telephone numbers. This function limits
use of the service to calls made only from mobile phones that are authorized for business use.
