Fusion Partners with Marubeni Solutions in Mobile IP Telephone Solutions for Corporate Users
Interconnectivity Testing of Colubris' Wireless LAN Equipment with Fusion's FUSION IP-Phone Completed
Fusion Communications Corporation and Marubeni Solutions Corporation (MSOL) have signed a solutions partner agreement for the IP subscriber telephone service, FUSION IP-Phone. Interconnectivity testing was carried out on FUSION Mobile IP-Centrex, a FUSION IP-Phone service that uses wireless LAN devices in the workplace developed by the telecommunications equipment manufacturer Colubris Networks Inc. of the United States, a specialist in wireless LAN devices.
The testing involved FUSION IP-Centrex, Colubris' wireless LAN devices, and Hitachi WirelessIP-5000 mobile IP phones. Testing was done for Quality of Service (QoS) (priority control for voice traffic), call continuation during handover, assurance of security, and other issues. The testing established that: (1) there was no voice deterioration during calls; (2) high-speed handovers were achieved; and (3) security was maintained during data transmission.
This testing proved that the hurdles of poor voice quality and loss of the call during handover were overcome, making it possible to provide more reliable mobile IP phone solutions for the corporate wireless LAN environment.
In the future, MSOL and solutions partners in the Fusion Service Partner Alliance will provide systems integration for this mobile IP phone solution. MSOL will also sell Colubris' wireless LAN devices to solutions partners and provide support.
Through their cooperation based on this agreement, MSOL and Fusion aim to expand mobile IP phone solutions in corporate wireless LAN environments.
